What you get:
This Service provides access to a BMC Helix Technical Advisor for 20 days within the subscription term.
The TAS guides the customer through Value Path–aligned adoption activities, helping them understand recommended architectures, configurations, and best practices by demonstrating selected use cases in the customer’s own environment.
BMC Helix will perform the following:
- Provide Value Path-led architecture and design guidance aligned to the customer's BMC Helix adoption goals.
- Deliver best-practice recommendations mapped to the relevant BMC Helix Value Paths (Service Management, Operations Management, AIOps, GPT).
- Guide the customer on how BMC Helix capabilities align to specific value-path outcomes and maturity stages.
- Perform limited, demonstrative hands-on configuration to enable agreed, value-path-aligned use cases.
- Provide configuration examples that show recommended patterns and design intent within a value path.
- Deliver live walkthroughs and explanations of demonstrated configurations, explicitly tied to value-path outcomes.
- Collaborate with customer cross-functional teams to understand needs and tailor value-path use cases accordingly.
- Design and create interactive walkthroughs and tooltips to illustrate value-path use cases.
- Provide adoption guidance focused on enabling the customer to continue progressing along the same value path independently.
Deliverables: Using BMC Helix’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this engagement and will be delivered:
BMC Helix Current State Report:
- BMC Helix Value Path Alignment — Documents agreed adoption goals, selected use cases, and current-state baseline mapped to the applicable Value Path.
- Configuration Walkthrough Documentation — Reference materials including screenshots, configuration notes, and recommended patterns for demonstrated use cases.
- Handover & Adoption Guidance Summary — Best practices, design rationale, and next-step recommendations enabling the customer to independently extend the demonstrated configurations.
Completion Criteria:
A TAS engagement is considered as complete for that use cases complete when,
- The agreed use cases have been demonstrated.
- Configurations and best practices have been explained.
- Customer confirms understanding and readiness to proceed independently.
Any additional work beyond this point must be delivered through a separately scoped Professional Services engagement.
Out of Scope:
- The TAS service is predominantly advisory/guidance oriented; full implementation, rollout, or end-to-end delivery of value paths is out of scope.
- Repeated, iterative, or bulk configuration activities beyond agreed demonstrations.
- Execution of complete value-path phases or maturity levels on behalf of the customer.
- Production support, operational support, or managed services.
- Any work required to advance beyond demonstrated value-path use cases, which must be delivered through a separately scoped Professional Services engagement.
Delivery Methodology:
The TAS engagement is delivered in three phases: Align, Demonstrate, and Handover.
This approach is intended to understand and analyze the customer’s current system state, identify areas that deliver the most value, and recommend a focused set of adoption use cases. These use cases are then demonstrated to show case tangible value to the customer.
Phase 1: Alignment
Ensure a shared understanding of goals, scope, and success criteria before any hands-on activity begins. | Phase 2: Demonstrate
Demonstrate how selected use cases are configured and executed using limited hands-on configuration. | Phase 3: Handover
Enable the customer to independently replicate and extend the demonstrated configurations |
| ACTIVITIES | ACTIVITIES | ACTIVITIES |
- Understand the customer’s adoption goals and current solution usage.
- Review the Helix Value Path that most aligns to these goals and identify the current state baseline.
- Identify and agree on 1–2 representative use cases from the Value Path for further discussion, workshops, and potentially configuration.
- Confirm environments to be used (preferably non-production).
- Finalize engagement boundaries and exit criteria.
| - Perform minimal, demonstrative configuration required to enable the agreed use cases.
- Configure reference examples aligned to BMC Helix best practices.
- Execute live walkthroughs of the configured use cases.
- Explain design choices, configuration logic, and recommended patterns.
| - Review demonstrated configurations and workflows.
- Share configuration rationale, best practices, and implementation guidance.
- Provide reference material (screenshots, configuration notes, or examples where applicable).
- Answer clarification questions related to the demonstrated use cases.
