Responsible AI

BMC Helix takes a responsible approach to the design and use of artificial intelligence. AI capabilities in BMC Helix are governed through defined policies, oversight, and risk review processes to support accountability, transparency, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

Our Responsible AI practices focus on setting clear data use boundaries, defining shared responsibilities, and applying governance controls across AI features offered in Helix.

AI used in BMC Helix (policy level)

BMC Helix AI and generative AI features operate within defined data use boundaries. Customer data is handled in accordance with contractual commitments, privacy obligations, and applicable data protection laws.

BMC Helix does not use customer data to train shared AI models across customers. Any use of customer data for AI capabilities is scoped to the customer’s own Helix environment and use cases.

Use of third party AI models

BMC HelixGPT allows customers to use their own selected large language model (LLM) providers.

BMC Helix does not select, operate, or manage third party AI models on the customer’s behalf.

Customers are responsible for reviewing and approving their chosen provider’s data handling and compliance practices.

Customer vs Helix responsibilities (AI)

BMC Helix is responsible for defining service level AI guardrails, governance expectations, and platform level controls for AI capabilities offered within Helix.

Customers control whether AI features are enabled in their tenant and are responsible for configuring access, selecting data sources, and validating AI generated outputs before business use.
